Rated 1 out of 5 by from Once the battery goes bad, the unit cannot be used I feel ripped off. I purchased 3 of these for 3 locations. When the internal battery dies, the unit cannot print. Even when plugged in, I cannot use the unit until I replace the battery.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Read if you have battery issues Just writing this review to clear the air: if your rechargable battery ran out, it's most likely because the USB plug you use doesn't have enough power to charge it. Simply plug the USB cable to a cell phone charger or other port that has enough power. Once charging, the status light flashes 3 times on, then pauses and repeats.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Battery depleted = need to buy LabelManager Once the battery is depleted, you might as well throw away the entire device, since a replacement battery is priced near the price of the initial device. The device will not work without the battery, even if it is plugged in. The lifetime of the battery is low. It will not charge, even if the remaining capacity should lend itself to charging.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Once battery dies, so does the machine The battery is not able to charge it on USB powered. I've checked the battery and it's charged. I've tried in multiple PCs. I've cleaned the battery. Still doesn't charges. And the price for new battery is ridiculous.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from OK printer The printer is OK, and although it will print on ½" labels, the maximum printable height is only ¼". So it doesn't print bigger than a ⅜" label printer does. I do like that I can use it on my Mac instead of dealing with a keyboard on the unit. The big problem is the software. The font size control is very coarse with single digit from 7 to 14 points, but then it jumps to 18, 24, 36, 48, 64, & 72. And Auto fit and shrink to fit both seem to do the same thing and knock two line text to 8 points. The vertical centering changes when you print the label. And while it is suppose to work with other software, such as a regular text editor, I haven't had any luck with that. Basically, a decent printer but terrible software that gives you little control, opens with the window a bit narrower than it should be.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Battery lasts 1.5yrs, then needs replacement The battery lasted about 1.5 years and is now dead. I must buy a new battery for about $25-$30 from questionable sources. Yes DYMO DOES NOT SELL REPLACEMENT BATTERIES. Ridiculous.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Works great until it doesn't work!! The battery is not rechargeable, so when it dies, you have to toss it and buy another one. That doesn't make any sense. I had to download the driver a couple of different times, but when it worked, it was easy to use. But then the battery went out and there is not way to recharge it. Very disappointing.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from When it works it's good. This is my third PNP Label Manager and it's such a crap-shoot as to if it will work or not. It is the easiest to use and prints quickly and good quality when it does print. However, the battery is a different story. I don't use this label maker often and the first year I kept it plugged in. I was told that was the reason the battery wouldn't work. I bought a new machine since the battery isn't that much cheaper. It worked fine out of the box and then I left it unplugged until I needed to use it and then it didn't work. The battery wouldn't hold a charge and so, two machines. This time I bought a battery replacement and nothing. It shows the battery isn't charged and it is. Then it it said the cable wasn't plugged in and it was, but I unplugged both ends of the cable and reinserted them. Back to the battery symbol showing it isn't charged. Crazy! So, three machines, and it won't work. I'm really disappointed because I've always liked the Dymo brand, but I can't keep buying new label makers every time I need to make a new label.
